Do you really need a blog for your company?

Let’s say you have a site on etsy.com or another commerce site. You’re a small business, or you work at home, or you want to sell handmade crafts or photos.

Do you still need a blog? Yes! A blog extends your web presence, giving you the opportunity to tell your potential buyers more about your product. You can talk to your customers through your blog, letting them know of upcoming sales, when new items have been added to your store, and even use it (along with Twitter) to advertise sales, new items, contests and free items (such as patterns) that can be had your website.

Even if you already have a static website, a blog can add richness and interest, as well as helping your search engine rankings in Google.

Why should you add a Twitter account with a customized background? You can find new customers through your Twitter. Don’t spam, but make it interesting. Talk about what’s new at your web site, what’s on sale, interesting things you read on the web. It all points back to your business.
